“It always feels fresh and exciting working with clients from a vast array of geographical locations and time zones.”
☝️ The Melting Pot. Where working & living come together.
What changed in your approach to your role since you joined Touchcast?
The overall approach hasn’t changed a lot (It's always been about delivering wonderful events). My approach does slightly vary depending on the event specifics. It always feels fresh and exciting working with clients from a vast array of geographical locations and time zones (Australia, Asia, UK, Europe + many more).
What part of your childhood relates to your work at Touchcast?
I grew up by the beach and was lucky to have open space to roam around. With Touchcast, I feel a lot of the same freedoms. Working remotely I am able to roam around to different spaces & locations. I can work from the home office one day, work from a park the next day.
What advice would you give to someone starting out in...(your role)?
Be thorough and pay attention to the details.
How do you make the most out of working remotely?
By changing things up and keeping it spontaneous. Working from different spaces and altering the work station regularly. I also try to keep things healthy and pop outside for a quick jog during breaks.
What is something outside of work you’re irrationally passionate about?
Live music. Most of my friends are in the music, art and fashion industries, so I’m always out supporting them at live gigs and exhibitions.
Your hidden talent
Skipping rope. I can jump rope like the best of ‘em
Your greatest fear
Getting eaten by a shark whilst swimming (I’ve seen JAWS too many times)
Most unusual job you’ve ever had
Washing dishes at my parents restaurant when I was 11 years old. I forced them to hire me and give me a job 🤣
if I weren’t doing this job I would be...
Touring musician
If you could learn to do anything...
Piano - I’ve always wanted to be able to play the piano
If you could meet anyone, living or dead
It’d be amazing to see Jimi Hendrix do a guitar solo in front of my face
Movie recommendation
Kill Bill 1 & 2
Dream trip
São Tomé and Príncipe or Portugal. A trip to either locale would be lovely, so I can catch up with some family
Who would you pick as your mentor
Sir David Attenborough
What music you are into right now
This months top 3 are Kaytranada, Leisure & PNAU
